tires

Since there are several of us boaters who love to mountain bike....

What's a good tire for pisgah winter riding? I'm gona be staying up in Asheville for awhile.might as well throw some new meat on my rig.

I haven't been in this forum for a while. Anyhow, I'm running a Specialized Ground Control 2.3 on the rear and a Purgatory 2.2 on the front. The Purgatory is pretty meaty and eats up rocks and roots. Stop by The Hub and/or Sycamore Cycles there in Brevard and talk to those guys. They all ride up there so they'll probably be able to help you best. We were just up there last weekend, did a couple rides and Dupont and a Sunday "recovery" ride at Bracken.

I've been wanting to give the x-kings a try. Seems a lot of the folks up there like the Maxxis Ardent as well.

Ordered a set of haven wheels. Gives mea little more time to figure out what meat to use.

Stopped in at beer city bikes in Asheville and ordered a set of 29" ust Maxxis Ardents. Cant wait I'll be hitting bent creek sat. Might try DuPont Sun. Won't have the new wheels or tiers yet .Can't wait till I do.
